Lina's Lovely Hats

January 28th, 2012
We had so many people email us and asked if they could pre-order hats even though the hats are on backorder. And YES you can :) We should be able to ship your orders in the next two to three weeks but hopefully even sooner. We will also have some Lovely Boys Hats coming in and we will post pictures as soon as they arrive. Thank you for your support.

Two Blog Updates

Home Sweet Home

Lina was able to go home this weekend and we were so happy to re-unite as a family. I had never been away from Frieda for that many days and I was so excited to see her. Lina's diarrhea is almost gone but the cause stays a mystery to the doctors of both teams (oncology and gastroenterology). Unfortunately Lina caught a sinus infection and cold the day before we got to go hom ...

Update from Kati

January 19th, 2012
Lina was admitted after spiking a fever two days ago. We spent half a night at Squamish hospital which was everything but good. I really felt for the sweet nurses there who were trying their best. The doctor on the other hand was a different story and he can be happy I did not jump in his face  He knew everything better BUT fully wrong- dangerously wrong (even though the oncologist told him o ...

Update from BCCH

January 18th, 2012
A quick update.

Lina was admitted into BCCH on Tuesday, to monitor her conditions after a bout of illness that left her dehydrated and ultimately with little or no counts. To be on the safe side, the doctors at BCCH felt it best if she be admitted. They have since run a battery of tests to source out the cause of the illness ( to determine if it is her cancer pulling the strings) but all hav ...

Round 8 of Chemo

January 13th, 2012

It took me a few days to digest round 8 before I could write about it.

It all started out well, Lina needed 3 hours of pre-hydration before the chemo and she did well.
We could see her little face getting puffier bit by bit but she was in good spirits and ran around the
oncology clinic, Mike and I following her closely with the IV pole. Then chemo started and right away I could tell she was ...

An Update from Kati, Jan. 4th

Here is an update from Kati, Jan. 4, 2012

The Plan

We finally got the results from our oncologist today, I am glad he is back from his holiday. We now know that the last two rounds of chemo have only managed to shrink the tumour a bit and it is still pretty MIBG avid and active. All in all not what we hoped/wished for at all but what we (Mike and I)secretly expected.

The show must go on a ...

MEC Bracelets & Key Chains

January 2nd, 2012
Team Lina is proud to be starting the New Year with a new Fundraising Campaign. The Great folks at Mountain Equipment Co-op (www.mec.ca) have graciously designed, organized, and donated bracelets and key chains made from upcycled climbing ropes to help raise money for Lina’s treatment.  The bracelets come in a variety of cool colours and patterns.  And they come in five sizes, from xs-xl, (th ...

HAPPY NEW YEAR Frohes Neues Jahr

January 1st, 2012

My New Year resolutions looked quite different a few years ago.
I guess New Year resolutions for neuroblastoma families are pretty simple yet sometimes hard to achieve.
My plan for 2012 is simply to keep everyone in my family healthy, happy and alive!

We ended 2010 with Chemo therapy, started 2011 with chemo and ended it with chemo.
We will start 2012 (in about 10 days) with chemo but I a ...
